Linacre College will mark its 50th Anniversary in 2012, and plans are underway to celebrate this momentous milestone in the history of the College. All Linacre Members are invited to attend our Oxford celebration on Saturday, September 29th. An invitation is going out to all Members in the Spring 2012 edition of Linacre News. Details of events, how to book, and accommodation suggestions are also available below, and will be updated as plans develop. Linacre events in other countries are also being planned (although not on September 29th, in order not to clash with the Oxford event). Information on those events will be published here, as and when details are finalised.

How to Book for Events

Please use the booking form available here to reserve your place for the buffet lunch, tour of "Old Linacre", or the ceilidh.  Thanks to the generosity of an Old Member, there will be no charge for these events, but you must secure a ticket in order to attend.  Please include an e-mail address so we may contact you. The form may be e-mailed (from February 9th) to ros.connell@linacre.ox.ac.uk or you may post it to: Development Office, Linacre College, St Cross Road, Oxford OX1 3JA, United Kingdom.

Accommodation

As all student rooms will be fully occupied for the start of the academic year, there will not be any accommodation available at Linacre. However, several accommodation suggestions and resources are available in the list available here. We strongly recommend that you book your accommodation as soon as possible.

Book Offer – Bamborough’s Linacre

Through the kind auspices of Linacre Founding Members Dr Evan Davies (1962) and Dr Eva Wagner (1962), the College is happy to offer copies of Bamborough’s Linacre: A Tribute to John Bernard Bamborough for £20 each, plus postage (£1.01 – £6.43, depending upon the destination). This 141-page, softcover book, printed in 2005 by the Institute of Historical Survey Foundation, recalls the first years of the College’s existence through the memories of Old Members who were students at that time. In addition it is illustrated with personal photos from the period.

To order, please e-mail marsaleete.anderson@linacre.ox.ac.uk with your name and address. She will advise you of the total cost with postage, which may be paid by debit/credit card or a UK sterling cheque made payable to “Linacre College”. All proceeds will go to support College needs.
