    RemarksA Scholarship in English is offered. Candidates will be nominated by the Faculty and no separate application is required. May not be available every year.

  • Ronald and Jane Olson Scholarship in Refugee Studies
    DurationOne year
    ValueCollege fee, plus maintenance grant of several thousand pounds, specific amount depending on dollar exchange rate.
    RemarksTo study for an MSc degree in Forced Migration. Open to candidates from any country. No separate application to the College is needed.

  • European Blaschko Visiting Research Scholarship
    DurationOne year
    ValueCollege and University fees for Visiting Student status, stipend and the cost of return travel from the Scholar’s home country
    RemarksTo carry out research for one year in the Department of Pharmacology or the MRC Anatomical Neuropharmacology Unit. Applications will only be considered from citizens of European countries.

  • Canadian Alumni Scholarship
    DurationOne Year
    Value£4,500
    RemarksThe Canadian Alumni Scholarship, established through the generosity of eight Old Members and one Fellow, provides a stipend of £4,500 for one year to support a Canadian national. At the time of taking up the scholarships, the C.A. Scholar must have been admitted as a postgraduate student of the University. They will be or will become, a member of Linacre College. This scholarship will be jointly awarded with a University Clarendon Scholarship (http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/io/funding/clarendon.shtml) that will cover University and College fees. No separate scholarship application to Linacre College is needed

  • Norman and Ivy Lloyd Scholarship/Commonwealth Shared Scholarship
    DurationOne year
    ValueUniversity and College fees, maintenance and return air travel from the Scholar’s home country.
    RemarksTo study for the one-year taught M.Sc degree in Environmental Change and Management. Open to candidates from developing Commonwealth countries.
    This scholarship, when paired with a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship (CSS) provides full support for University and College fees, maintenance and return air travel from the scholar's home country. Candidates wishing to be considered for this scholarship must first apply for the University's CSS (http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/io/funding/csss.shtml). They will then, automatically be considered for this scholarship. No separate application to the college is needed.

  • Hitachi Chemical Europe Environmental Change and Management Scholarship
    DurationOne year
    ValueCollege fee plus a contribution of £1,000 towards maintenance costs.
    RemarksPreference will be given to a student from China, Central or South America but students with limited resources from other countries are not excluded. The successful applicant is expected to return to the country of origin and contribute to its social and economic development. Candidates wishing to be considered for this scholarship must apply for a place on the MSc in Environmental Change and Management by the 4th gathered field (14th March 2008). If eligible, they will then, automatically be considered for this scholarship. No separate application to the college is needed.

  • Linacre IT Scholar
    DurationUpto three years
    Value£2000p.a., free accommodation and meals
    Remarks

    The Computer Scholar’s primary role is to support the College’s computer services outside the normal working day, when the IT Manager or System’s Administrators are unlikely to be available, both in term-time and for most of the vacations (at least 44 weeks a year). Furthermore, the Computer Scholar would be expected to be available for some directed work by the IT Manager for up to 10 hours per week.  This figure would normally be reduced in weeks where there is a significant number of out of hour’s calls.

    The appointee will be required to migrate to Linacre if not already a student there and so the appointment will be subject to academic approval.

    An appointment has been made for 2009 and will continue for the next three years or until the College re-advertises here.
