Paul Nurse JRF Fund

NEW FUND ACHIEVES FIRST GOAL!

Although only established a few months ago, the new Paul Nurse JRF in Biomedical Sciences Fund has already received enough funding to see it through a two-year cycle, beginning in 2014. Linacre is delighted to be able to add the Paul Nurse JRF to its growing list of Fellowships for young academics. But we don't want to stop here. Our ultimate goal is to endow the Fund in perpetuity. We hope you will want to add your name to the list of kind donors (below) who have enabled us to reach this first important milestone.

Title: Paul Nurse Junior Research Fellowship in Biomedical Sciences Fund

Purpose: Former Junior Research Fellows, encouraged by Dr Leonid Nikitenko (an Adjunct Fellow and former JRF himself, who generously made the first donation) are setting up this fund to support future generations of young academics. Sir Paul Nurse, former Governing Body Fellow, and Honorary Fellow, is also kindly supporting the Fund. Donations from all current or former Members of the College, and from Friends, are most welcome.

Subject area: Biomedical Sciences

Target: £5000 (for 2014-2016) or £60000 (to endow the Junior Research Fellowship)

Countdown (raised so far): £13,335

Donations: We can no longer accept card payments by e-mail. Please send the form available via the link on the right to Linacre by post. Your financial security is extremely important to us. Thank you.

Alternatively, it is also now possible to make a secure online gift, specifically for the Paul Nurse JRF, via the University of Oxford online giving site here. American donors, however, should give through the Oxford North American Office site here. Select 'Linacre College' from the drop-down box, and put 'Paul Nurse JRF' in the 'other areas' box.

N. B. All donations from UK taxpayers can be augmented by 25% once we have received a signed Gift-Aid form from the donor. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to secure additional money for Linacre, at no cost to yourself. A Gift Aid Declaration form is available via the second link on the right. If you have already signed a Gift Aid declaration, please can you let us know if you cease to be a UK taxpayer. We would then know not to claim Gift Aid on your behalf. Thank you.

Further information may be found in a message to former Linacre JRFs, available via the third link on the right.
