TITLE: Creating Health and Wellbeing in Universities
ABSTRACT: Good health, well-being and resilience are crucial in any workplace and universities are no exception. Until recently leadership on health and wellbeing has been of low priority in higher education. It has not been seen as relevant to academic product and excellence. Based on my work as an Adviser to government since 2006 on Health, Well-being and Work, and the growth of the network “Healthy Universities” I shall argue that this needs to change.
Dame Carol Black DBE FRCP is former President of the Royal College of Physicians and advisor to the Government on work and health.
