The annual Linacre Summer Reception in London will be held on Tuesday, 30th May, at the Oxford and Cambridge Club, Pall Mall, in the elegant Princess Marie Louise Room. Drinks and light canapés will be served. We are especially delighted that Dr Quintin Colville, Curator of Naval History at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, and a former Linacre Junior Research Fellow, will be giving an illustrated talk on the life of Lady Emma Hamilton--the subject of a recent major special exhibition at the National Maritime Museum. You can find out more about the exhibition here .
Dr Colville was lead curator of Emma Hamilton: Seduction and Celebrity, as well as lead curator for the Museum's flagship gallery, Nelson, Navy, Nation. Please see the attached document for further biographical information on Dr Colville, and a brief introduction to his talk, which will start at 7.30 pm. There will also be time to socialise before and after the talk, and the Principal will be attending.
Tickets are £20/person, and all Linacre Members, wherever you live, are warmly invited to attend. You are also welcome to book an additional ticket for a guest.
