Further details

The Faculty of Philosophy and Linacre College are jointly offering a fees-only scholarship to an applicant accepted to start a DPhil in Philosophy in the 2021-22 academic year, on a research topic in Moral Philosophy/Ethics. This graduate scholarship will cover university fees, irrespective of fee status, and is initially tenable for one year, with renewal for a further one or two years (depending on the period of fee liability), subject to satisfactory academic progress.
There is no separate application process for this scholarship. The Faculty of Philosophy will automatically consider all eligible offer holders for the DPhil in Philosophy for this funding, irrespective of what college they applied to. Scholarship holders will be selected for their outstanding academic merit and potential.
To enable the scholarship to be taken up, the offer holder must have been offered a place on the DPhil in Philosophy by the Faculty of Philosophy in the University of Oxford, and be in receipt of a college offer from Linacre College or accept to transfer their college offer from another college to Linacre College.
