Five brand new ensuite study bedrooms are being created in the roof space and the remaining 20 rooms are being fitted with ensuite facilities, the kitchens will be modernised and made much bigger. We will also be creating a fully accessible ensuite bedroom which will include additional support facilities and improve access for users with mobility requirements.
Due for completion March 2024, the environmental performance of the Bamborough Building will be significantly improved by removing its reliance on gas and installing enhanced insulation and state-of-the-art water saving technologies.
Director of Estates, Simon Barker, said;
“I am hugely excited to embark on the first major refurbishment of the Bamborough Building since it was built over 40 years ago. The improved facility will offer a much better student accommodation experience whilst also reducing our carbon footprint.”
