About the award: Students are invited to apply for a prize of £1,000 from the Frederick Mulder Prize 2023-2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for students undertaking fieldwork in the fields related to social deprivation or social injustice. An award of £1,000 will be made to at least two successful applicants.
The Mulder Fund was established in 2004 following a donation from alumnus Frederick Mulder (1968). This is a competitive award, and provides an excellent opportunity for students who are soon to embark on fieldwork. Previous grants have been awarded to support students doing fieldwork in Kenya, Malawi, and the Republic of Ireland, with projects spanning across numerous fields such as Migration Studies, Conservation and Management, African Studies, and Geography. We recognise that the subject of social deprivation and injustice may span many academic fields, and as such the award will not be limited to any specific courses.
Application process: Awards will be made based on the merit and relevance to social deprivation/injustice of the applications. To apply, please complete this form. Applicants will be required to upload an up-to-date CV and a supporting statement from their academic supervisor.
Deadline: Applications will be accepted from Monday 11th of December to Friday 26th of January.
