Graham completed a DPhil in Physics at Linacre in 1987 and is a Senior Fellow, National Physical Laboratory, Honorary Professor Universities of Glasgow and Birmingham and Visiting Professor University of Strathclyde.

He joins over 90 researchers from across the world spanning fields from artificial intelligence and electron microscopy to global health and neuroscience in receiving the honour.

Graham joins the ranks of Stephen Hawking, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Lise Meitner, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar and Dorothy Hodgkin.
