Welcome to the Linacre Common Room. Unlike other Oxford colleges, Linacre does not segregate fellows, staff and students. All members of Linacre are automatically members of the Common Room (CR) and share the same social space.
The bustling CR bar is where most of the activity is based. It is an ideal place for socialising with tea, coffee or something stronger. The bar is open at lunchtimes during the week (12:30 to 13:30 Monday – Friday) and every evening from 18:30 to 23:00.
Meet our Common Room team
Common Room activities are managed by the CR Team. This is a group of students who are elected by members of the CR and who represent student interests in the College.
Events and societies
In addition to providing a social space, the Common Room holds regular meetings, organises bops, enjoys an active calendar of social events and a offers a varied mix of sports and societies.
Facilities
Linacre College has one of the finest gym facilities in Oxford. CR members also enjoy free membership to the Rosenblatt Swimming Pool on Iffley Road. The Common Room owns two punts that are stored at Wolfson College. The CR owns an industrial-scale barbecue which can be used by contacting the CR President. The CR also owns a set of bicycle maintenance equipment and camera equipment. Ask at the Lodge about hiring equipment or registering for a punt card.
Room Hire
Common Room members can hire the Small Common Room for personal events. This is a self-reservation system so please be respectful and don’t block book the room. Reservations can be made here. There is a Music Practice Room in the basement of the Abraham Building with a new Yamaha piano. One hour booking slots can be made here and keys collected from Reception.

Member Support
