Linacre Librarian

Introducing Laura Unwin, our Linacre Librarian, who strives to ensure the Library is a welcoming and inspiring space for students.

I started work as the Linacre Librarian just as the refurbished Linacre Library opened on the 28th of November 2022. It was fortunate timing as I found the new Library to be a welcoming and uplifting space for myself, and a considerable asset for everyone else at College.

The renovated Library and my new position called for the implementation of a Linacre Library Policy to take the Library forward into the future with a focus both on access and creating a brand-new collection strategy.

Linacre is modern and progressive, and it is essential that this links through to work we do in the Library.

The Library team aims to give our students the best possible support for their studies and wants to engage with the diverse College community. I personally love my role as Librarian and want to oversee the Linacre Library to the best of my ability. We are modernising our interdisciplinary book collections to make them as relevant as we can, promoting our services and streamlining processes so that knowledge can be preserved for many years to come.
