Alumna Francisca Mutapi (1993) has joined the newest class of 20 global visionaries, sharing their big ideas throughout the events planned for 2021. She works at the University of Edinburgh as Global Health Professor.

NEW YORK, NY, MARCH 23, 2021—Epidemiologist Francisca Mutapi has been selected as a TED Fellow, joining a class of 20 remarkable individuals who are collaborating across disciplines to spark positive change around the world. Prof Francisca Mutapi was selected for her work on neglected tropical diseases focussing on locally-led solutions to eliminate these diseases to empower affected communities to thrive and achieve the global development goals.
“It is time we ended the neglect of these diseases which are unnecessary as they are easily preventable” said Francisca Mutapi, “The TED Fellowship program presents an opportunity to reach a wider audience and harness more original and innovative ways to accelerate progresses towards their elimination.”
