We are sorry to annouce that Peter Holloway, former Domestic Bursar at Linacre College, passed away on Tuesday 30th May. Peter had been in poor health for some time. The funeral will be held on Friday 23rd June at 2pm, at the Crematorium in Headington.
Peter left the staff of St Catherine’s Society (where he had worked for 13 years) in 1961 to join a small team brought together by Principal John Bamborough to set up Linacre House. He remained as Domestic Bursar of the College until September 1989, during which period he became an important figure to many generations of students and fellows. Peter will be remembered as one of the early architects of the College, a great character and fondly admired for his warmth, humanity and passion for the College.
