Congratulations to Linacre student Mike Barnkob (DPhil, Medical Sciences) who was recently awarded the Ita Askonas Medal and Prize by the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine. The Prize is awarded annually to a DPhil student in their third year.

The award recognised Mike’s work on T cells in the tumour microenvironment, and at the presentation Mike talked about his DPhil work on a protein that tumours release to block T cell movement, allowing cancer cells to escape immune destruction.
