You can enjoy a full round up of the action from each day below:
Day 1
M2 started off their campaign as the second boat in MDiv6. They had a strong start and maintained full pressure through an excellently steered line through the gut. Balliol M3 kept swiping at the stern but the boys pulled away each time for a strong row over.
W2 put down a strong race closing rapidly on Oriel W2. Unfortunately, Wadham W2 had an insanely speedy start and despite some last ditch manoeuvring they just couldn’t hold the Wadham girls off who eventually contact bumped Linacre.
The M1 boys were locked in from the moment they pushed off. They did a good solid start but a very quick Univ M2 off the start meant the boys never had chance to settle on their race rhythm and ultimately closed quicker on Linacre than Linacre could on Pembroke M2.
W1 started the day in WDiv2, and looking for payback on Exeter who bumped them on the last day of 8s in 2024. W1 received a full contact bump on Exeter right along the Greenbank and look forward to chasing Annes tomorrow.
Day 2
O2 was unfortunately in between two very speedy crews. They started to gain on Oriel but the Teddy Hall beer boat was just that much faster and closed the gap first.
W2 went into their race today with a fresh perspective and started strong. In the gut, they pulled to a canvas off of Wadham who managed to row off just as W2 was threatening to bump. While they ultimately weren’t able to catch Wadham, they rowed strong and kept GTC 2, the following crew, no less than a length back the entire race and rowed over.
M1 (never failing to deliver on drama content ) had some action in Men’s div 3 day on 2.. M1 had a good strong start, the boat was flying on the water and they were closing on Univ M2. Unfortunately, Univ M2 bumped ChCh M2 and this caused some chaos and M1 crashing into the bank right after Donnie bridge with all endings in a Wolfson M2 bump.
W1 bumped St Anne’s in just under 40 strokes, continuing their upward trajectory!
Day 3
Hildas promised our M2 that if they could hold Mansfield off till the gut, Hilda’s would bump Mansfield…. Linacre held up their half of the bargain. So, the boys were unfortunately bumped by Mansfield just after the gut.
W2 enjoyed a strong day of rowing and got really close to Magdalen W2 but unfortunately couldn’t quite close the gap.
M1 – Incredible row over, New didn’t even get close! Therefore 0/0 crews on for spoons. 2 seat was “as happy as a man that had been elected mayor” to quote the coach.
W1 bumped Green Templeton as they crossed on to the island, going up three in three days!
