During the application process, you will be given the opportunity to indicate a College preference. It is important that you research the College that is right for you, ensuring that they offer the course you have applied for and that they will be a good fit for your postgraduate studies.
All applications will be initially processed by the central Graduate Admissions. By indicating Linacre as your College of choice, your application will be passed to us for consideration once you have been accepted onto your course.

Graduate Admissions Selection Criteria for Linacre College
Applicants must first have been accepted by a Department or Faculty of the University of Oxford before any college may consider them.
Applications are considered for any of the courses in which the College offers admission. Please consult the following list of available courses.
Applications are usually considered by the Tutor for Admissions. The College seeks to maintain a diverse community of students and fellows, with a good balance between arts and sciences as well as taught and research-based postgraduate courses. Preference will normally be given to applicants whose area of study overlaps with the academic interests of the College fellows.
The College aims to admit a certain number of graduate students each year spread across a range of subjects, and this will determine the number of offers which can be made to applicants. Where there are more applicants than offers that can be made, the relative academic merit and potential of the applicants may be taken into account. It may not be possible to make offers to applicants whose applications are received late when places are full.
The possession of competitively-won funding may be taken into account as an indicator of the applicant’s academic merit and potential. The final decision on whether to offer a place in the light of the overall competition for graduate places, and the spread of those places across subject areas, is usually taken by the Tutor for Admissions.
Please note that any offer of a place will be subject to satisfactory financial evidence that the applicant can meet the tuition costs for the first year of their course. Please consult this guidance for further details.
Preference may be given to current or past students of the College who meet the selection criteria described above.
Meeting the Financial Conditions
If offered a place at Linacre College, all applicants will be required to complete a Financial Declaration form before an unconditional offer can be made. The Financial Declaration will be emailed to you by the College, and will consist of a breakdown of your course fees and predicted costs for the first-year of your studies. You are required to provide evidence of how you will meet these costs, whether this is through a scholarship, self-funding, US Loan, or other means.
Once these conditions have been met and you have returned your financial declaration to College, the University will be notified. If all conditions of your offer have been met – set by both the department and College – you will be sent an unconditional offer.
