Junior Research Fellowships

Full-time Closes on 16/09/2024

Linacre College proposes to elect two non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellowships, tenable for two years (subject to satisfactory progress) from Hilary term 2025 in collaboration with the Committee for Children (CfC) non-profit organisation. Junior Research Fellows will receive a research allowance of £300 per annum, enjoy Common Table dining rights in College, full access to social and sports facilities and can apply for travel grants. Candidates should be engaged in or intending to engage in research at post-doctoral level in an academic department of the University of Oxford.

Applicants who do not yet have a higher research degree will normally be expected to have submitted for a doctorate before taking up a Junior Research Fellowship. These Fellowships are non-stipendiary and therefore candidates must demonstrate they have adequate funding and the support of their academic department, including visa sponsorship where necessary, for the duration of the Fellowship. Normally, the successful applicants will not have held a DPhil/PhD for more than five years, but the College will apply discretion when considering applications from those who have taken a career break.

Applications from members of all communities are welcomed. Linacre College aims to provide equality of opportunity regardless of gender, ethnicity, colour, disability, religion, family responsibility, age, occupation, marital status, sexual orientation or trade union affiliation.

Full details about the non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellowships can found here. To apply, please download and complete this application form and email it to academic.office@linacre.ox.ac.uk with the following documents:

  • Covering letter outlining how you would contribute to the academic and social life of the College;
  • Brief Curriculum Vitae (no more than two A4 pages);
  • Research statement reflecting how the applicant’s work reflects the themes outlined above, no longer than two sides of A4 and word processed in font size of at least 11pt.

Please send your application by noon on Monday 16th September 2024. We anticipate that interviews will take place on Wednesday 2nd October 2024.
