Last weekend saw Linacre Boat Club achieve success at Henley Town and Visitors Regatta.

Over an 800m stretch of a choppy Thames river, boats of different categories race upstream in a head-to-head sprint.

First up, saw Linacre’s Martin Kraemer and Nuffield’s Matthias Haslberger win the open pairs (band 3) by 1 & 1/4 lengths from Vesta RC after having defeated Parrs Priory RC in a nerve-wracking heat race.

Then, the Linacre Women’s 4+, made up of Dragana Savic, Heather Dun, Lauren Wilburn, Ashvina Segaran and Luke Svasti (cox) came back from behind to steal the win from Falcon RC and Reading RC by just a length.

Congrats also to Linacre’s Mehran Hosseini who competed for the first time in the open single sculls event where he faced London RC and Vesta RC coming second in his heat.

Linacre Boat Club is now looking forward to Oxford City Royal Regatta on August 17th and 18th, where we hope to add more silverware to the collection!

And of course, we are already looking forward to the new academic year. If you are an incoming or continuing student and would like to get involved with the club, whether you are a complete novice or an experienced rower, get in touch!
