Honorary Fellow Carolyn Tanner Irish
We are sad to announce that Carolyn Tanner Irish (1964) passed away on 29th June surrounded by her family.
Carolyn was the first female bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah, and the fourth woman in the Episcopal Church to hold the office of bishop. She studied for a B.Litt. in Philosophy at Linacre in the 1960s and was a most generous supporter of College throughout her life. She was a community leader and an influential figure in Utah politics, and was known for her advocacy for immigration reform, the environment, and children's issues.
She will always be remembered at Linacre.
